Key Appointments Made in Violation of Election Rules, Prompting Calls for Investigation

Srinagar, Sept 14: Senior IAS Officer, Nazim Zai Khan, Mission Director of the National Health Mission (NHM) and Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) in Jammu and Kashmir, is under scrutiny for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct by establishing a Project Management Unit (PMU) with 10 officials without proper advertisement.
The appointments, reportedly involving close relatives of National Conference leaders, were made under dubious circumstances.
Despite the Code of Conduct, which prohibits such practices, Khan approached NICSI New Delhi for an undisclosed and questionable web-link to advertise the positions. The advertisement was released only to National Conference leaders and party workers on September 1, 2024, with appointment orders issued two days later, directing the appointees to join by September 6, 2024.
